Administrative control is about who handles the day-to-day administration of a unit—personnel actions, training, readiness, equipment, and administrative support. It stays with the command that is responsible for the unit’s overall upkeep and development, not necessarily who fires the weapons in a given mission.

The grey eagles are managed by the Attack Battalion, so that battalion is the one that administers their personnel, training standards, maintenance scheduling, and deployment readiness. The other battalions—Infantry, Armor, and Logistics—focus on their own primary roles and do not provide the administrative oversight for an aviation asset like the grey eagles.
